Gremlins is putting a lot of energy in his development. We're trying to pinpoint his skills; boxing, karate, tae kwan do, dancing? Knowing my prevalence for motown music, I'm betting more on a mini John Travolta than a mini Patrick Swaize. Currently he's churning out Monday-to-Saturday Night Fever. This Duquénoy is turning out to be like his/her father : physical. No doubt about it, good genes don't lie. It's with good signs on the first 4 1/2 months that the second ultrasound is coming up. It's half time in the pregnancy game and so far there's been no drama, no turn of events, no sudden moves, just a stroll in the park. Mother and father are both on the same line, ball's in the pla-center. Does half-time mean that everything is at 50%? Delphine's kilos? Gremlin's size? I'll have to ask the gynecologist...

So second ultrasound, THE main question is about to come up : do we want to know the sex of the offspring? I'm still set on the surprise. Not much pressure on my side of the family and friends, not so with Delphine's co-workers : they all want to know and are looking at the days, hours and minutes separating them and the BIG revelation : boy or girl? "How about I find out and you stay in the dark?" suggested Delphine the other day trying to play the mediator in this distant battle between home and work? No need to say what I thought of that unrealistic proposition.

So it was down to a last minute decision with the gynecologist. The pressure was high, the consequences too vast to fathom. What would happen if the mystery was lifted?

First images showed a wonderful little baby, Sooo much bigger than last time, you could now see all the internal organs, the bones, the brain, the fingers and toes, a cute little nose with lips. "If you don't want to find out, look away now" said the gynecologist. I looked at Delphine, Delphine shrugged and smiled : I smiled back.
